New Blogger Friend

I wanted to introduce you guys to a good friend of mine who recently started blogging. Angela is a pastor's wife in Texas and is a multi-talented lady. She can do it all and she's begun blogging about some of her life and hobbies. Please take a moment and drop by and see her, I know it would be an encouragement to her. Oh and let her know I sent you!

A Thoughtful Gift

The other day I walked to the mailbox expecting my normal store circulars and maybe a phone bill and I was pleasantly surprised by a package from Spain. Olé!! But wait, there's more! It was addressed to....wait for it....ME! We don't often get mail from outside of Croatia so this was very exciting.

My new friend Lou Ann from In the Way blog sent me one of her books! Are you kidding! And not only did she send me one of her sweet books she also signed it to me! I feel so cool to know the author of a book. So who is Lou Ann? Glad you asked.

Lou Ann Keiser is a pastor's wife, mother of two married children, and grandmother who lives in a quaint little village in Europe. Her thirty years of ministry to women urged her to compile biblical counsel in her debut book, His Ways, Your Walk. Lou Ann's great loves are: her Lord, the Bible, her family, nature, art, and music. She is an avid reader and blogger.

The one thing her bio didn't say is that she's been a missionary in Spain for 30 years. Anyhoo, the book is called His Ways, Your Walk and it's a Bible application book for women.

A biblical manual for women of all ages. This book helps you make the connection between the key Bible passages for women and your own Christian experience. It helps you see what the Bible says about the Christian life. Enjoy finding out how you can walk in God's ways!
Clearly, as with any book you read, you'll find somethings you strongly agree with and some that maybe you don't but the important thing to remember is that there are gems to be had. The only book that we will ever agree with 100% is the one we write. I haven't finished the book but I know it's gonna be a blessing.

You can purchase His Ways, Your Walk through Amazon. Be sure to check out In the Way blog, Lou Ann, has some great posts and she's a wonderful writer.

The above quotes were taken from Lou Ann's bio and book description on Amazon.

Modesty Rebounding; Boing!

A couple weeks ago I was peeping at some of my favorite missionary wife blogs and read and interesting post over at Sarah Joy's blog. It's called Modesty Rebounding; Boing! It was so well written and timely that I asked if I could share it with you all. She sweetly agreed, so here it is. BTW, make sure you check out her blog, she has a great family and honestly the cutest little girls I've ever seen.

Modesty Rebound; Boing!
I'm amazed by how much confusion has been blowing around Christian circles in regards to modesty.   I've read lots of different articles posted to social media criticizing legalistic notions.  These posts have made me take a long look at my own traditions, and also at these trends in the community of believers who call themselves by the name of Christ.

12 Awesome Fall Lowcarb Dessert Recipes

I'm sure most of you already know but last April we started a whole new way of eating. First of all I'm completely gluten free and feeling amazing and then at the same time Johnny and I both started Atkins. The last 6 months have been a real learning experience but we've both grown to love this way of eating and we've successfully made it a life style. Between the two if us we've lost a total of 75 lbs and we're not finished yet! Actually Johnny is finished and maintaining but I still have about 20 lbs left to shed. Anyhoo, the old adage: You have to work your plan! is so true with this way of eating but it's worth the time it takes to feel amazing!

So here are some of my favorite picks for Gluten Free / Low Carb Fall recipes from around the blogosphere!

1. I'm so excited to fine this recipe for Pecan Pumpkin Butter Cups at Worth Every Chew. Don't they look delish!

Early To Rise Challenge

Okay so I usually don't like to do to back-to-back posts but I had to add this one.
I was over at ByGrace and Susan posted about this Early to Rise Challenge that is going on over at Money Saving Mom. I am so in on this! I have slipped into a really bad habit of sleeping late and I know I shouldn't be, so here I go. The challenge started today, March 1, but since I missed today I'm starting tomorrow. Better late than never, right?
I'm looking forward to a quiet early morning and having everything done by 9. Who knows maybe i'll even have time to do a craft or read!

So whatcha think? Are you in?
