Certainties

Michael Faraday, the famous chemist and a man of great intellect, was asked as he neared the chilly waters of death this question, "What are your speculations now?"

"Speculations?", he replied, "I have none. I am resting on certainties." He then quoted this verse,

"...for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day." II Timothy 1:12b

What a wonderful thing that we as born-again Christians can rest in the certainties of Christ and His eminent return.

What a blessing to read this Tori! When you pick apart that verse, the words "am persuaded" really stand out! I'm convinced - no shaking me - no changing my mind - I'm persuaded that God can keep me!!! :-) Amen!

What a legacy he left! It saddens me that the godly character of many of the earliest scientists has become little more than obscure facts now.

  5. Thank God for the REST that believers can look forward to! It makes any burden we bear in this life worthwhile. Praise God.
