Certainties

Michael Faraday, the famous chemist and a man of great intellect, was asked as he neared the chilly waters of death this question, "What are your speculations now?"

"Speculations?", he replied, "I have none. I am resting on certainties." He then quoted this verse,

"...for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day." II Timothy 1:12b

What a wonderful thing that we as born-again Christians can rest in the certainties of Christ and His eminent return.

  1. What a blessing to read this Tori! When you pick apart that verse, the words "am persuaded" really stand out! I'm convinced - no shaking me - no changing my mind - I'm persuaded that God can keep me!!! :-) Amen!

  2. What a legacy he left! It saddens me that the godly character of many of the earliest scientists has become little more than obscure facts now.
