You know what I have always been handicapped in; multitasking. I just can't do two things at one. Either I thrive doing one or I totally neglect the other. Some people can get ten things done at once, I don't know how they do it, how they keep everything lined up neatly in their heads to make sure that each task is finished correctly. I dunno. I wanna multitask but it's so dangerous to try. I mean really, cutting bread while talking on the phone could potentially be a bad thing. Cutting my family's hair while pruning a bonsai tree could lead to disastrous outcomes. I try not to drive and paint my toenails at the same time, for fear of the messy purple outcome.
I realize that I can not multitask, I don't know why I was shorted in this area of my concentration but I know I was. I am embracing my singleness of mind but sometimes it gets in the way.
For example: Blogger and Facebook. The most detrimental enemy of Blogger is Facebook. Do you know how many single-taskers there are out there in Blogville like me? Really, you're reading your favorite blog and one day the posts just stop. You wonder to yourself, maybe there's trouble in the family, maybe a physical ailment, who knows even death maybe. Nope, mark all those out, more than likely it's FACEBOOK.
I was invited to FB and joined to keep in touch with family and friends, little did I know how it would effect my life and least the blogging part of it.
So there you have it, my excuse for my long absence. All the fault belongs to Facebook. I'm pretty innocent in the whole ordeal. I am going to try to multi-task at least in this area of life. It may be a bit reckless so bare with me, it takes time to learn a new skill and this one is definantly new to me!

Very funny! I do both, but sometimes I'd rather do on than the other so one of them will just sit neglected for awhile. Glad to hear you are doing ok.
ReplyDeleteYep, that's why I am against Facebook and Twitter. I don't know how some folks have time to do all of those and other things too.
ReplyDeleteCome on back to Blogville with us!
I tried fb and liked it for the most part, but had to cancel it....long story...and certainly not for telling in a comment section of a blog post!!
ReplyDeleteAnyway....I'm always here...even when you neglect me for 2 weeks!
;)
Hope you're having a fantastic Sunday!!
You are so right, Tori. Facebook is killing the blogging world. It's definitely affecting my blog.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know you are OK. Been missing ya. Almost asked your hubby again but figured you were busy with the revival, vbs and all. Ready for more why I love Croatia stuff.? - just a suggestion.
ReplyDeleteNow I am triple tasking. FB, Twitter and Blogger. What will become of me.
ReplyDeleteHey let one go a bit. I let FB go and it´s still there when I get back. Twitter, twits without me too. jeje
My blog is there too. May we all find the right balance in life. I was starting to feel as if I would rather talk with my computer and my cyber friends instead of go out. that was a wake up call. :)
So What ever works for you is cool with us.
I'm glad you're okay, and I'm really glad you don't drive and paint your toenails! LOL! Too funny!
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny and this is just so true!!
ReplyDeleteLOL!!! This happened to me. If you go to my blog I have at least posted two blogs since my month off. Facebook was one of the reasons I didn't blog for a month. That Farmtown is just so addicting on Facebook, lol.
ReplyDeleteI found a really great browser that will let you blog and facebook!!!(and Twitter, if you do) All in the same screen!! Try it out www.flock.com
ReplyDeleteIt is really neat, the only downside for me is it doesnt have im feature (except for FB chat)
Glad to see you back. I am way behind on my posts on blogger as well!! Gotta get caught up, but life is crazy here!!
I have noticed a dirth of posting in Blogland and wondered if FB had anything to do with it.
ReplyDeleteI have decided not to do the FB thing because I already have enough things to fight with my flesh about regarding computer time, I didn't need something else! LOL (o;
LOL, blogger, weebly, FB, twitter - and now I am trying to figure out what on earth social bookmarking is!! I have to say tho - Blogger is my first, and my fav. Easy to use, fun gadgets, etc.

Hello Tori,
ReplyDeletejust wanted to stop by and say hi. It's been a while. I loved your post about multitasking. Hmm, I think it is easier to have one or the other. I have both but I really find facebook is great to have a little chat with family members.
My daughter in laws sister has just come back from a big tour of Europe and she really loved Croatia and Lithuania (Lithuania is where their Dad comes from). Praise God for you and your family being there in Croatia.
Praying for you and yours right now,
blessings Sandra in NZ
