Apron Fever

Today I finished another apron, this one a half apron. I have been having so much fun lately with my machine. I don't always wear an apron when I clean and cook but it's my intention to for that habit. I can't tell you how many times I've ruined my clothes cooking or cleaning, yea and you have too, I know.
I'm gonna have to start giving these things away before long, hey how many aprons can one lady have anyhow.

If you'll notice on this apron so sweetly modeled by my Hannah-Girl, you'll notice it has only one pocket and then a button on the other side. Actually I kinda modified the hand towel apron for this one. Instead of sewing the hand towel into the waistband I decided to make it removable.
So the towel has a button hole in it and the apron has a button. So easy hand whipping! :0)
The apron with the towel, I actually had to put the button hole a little lower than I wanted because my machine wouldn't button hole over the bumpy part of the towel so I had to move it down. Also I used bias tape to finish the towel off.
Oh yea and I used the decorative stitch to make the pockets a little more interesting. It's so much fun to discover new things on the machine.

Anyhow, there's apron #2, it was fun to make and who knows what I'll do with it now. Hey maybe I'll do some apron give-a-ways soon. Maybe!!

  1. Hi,my name is Susan and I've been reading your blog for a few weeks, and what a blessing it's been!!I had to laugh at your comment about ruined clothes because I'm wearing one right now. Once a nice knit black skirt that has grease, paint and bleach stains, and is now an "official" cleaning skirt! It actually looks worse than my culottes! I never thought of wearing an apron to clean:)Anyways, love your blog, thanks for the blessings!!

  3. Oh, yes, I've ruined a few tops and skirts by not wearing my apron! I'd like to think I've learned my lesson, LOL :P

The apron looks great; I especially love that decorative stitch you did on the pockets -- it's so pretty!

  4. Aprons are great! I don't know what I would do without them, I always seem to splatter on my clothes when I cook, no matter how careful I am. This apron is so cute...I love all the "little extras" you put on it.

  8. It should be illegal for one lady to have that much talent. I'm jealous!

If your looking to give some away, I know a poor lady in Portugal that would really appreciate it...:)

I adore aprons!! I need one to wear while I'm working in the yard. the Portuguese ladies wear the ones that go over your head and cover the front and the back..with pockets to gather your oranges/lemons/apples...whatever in.

Did I mention I was jealous??!
