Friday's Fave 5

So today I am participating in Living to Tell the Story's Friday's Fave Five Link Up.

God has been so good to us and my blessings are innumerable but here's my 5 for today.

1. My youngest child Hannah. She's not so young anymore, she's 17 but she's still the baby of 3. Hannah came out of the womb singing. She sings all day long, every day. When she's not singing she's playing some sorta instrument. She is a true joy to be around. Her upbeat personality brings me up when things are so great. I'm so thankful God gave us a Hannah.

2. All the help Johnny has been this week after my foot surgery. He's been such a servant and pulling his weight and mine all week. He takes such good care of me and makes me feel like it's his joy.

3. The $12 we paid for my foot surgery. Social medicine isn't great and there are a lot of negatives to it but only having to pay $12 for my foot surgery was awesome!!

4. Loving the crazy warm weather of November. Usually this time in Croatia it's already seriously cold but our weather's been in the high 50s and it's glorious!

5. Lap dogs! Never realized how awesome lap dogs were till we got Zoi! Who ever thought there were dogs that don't shed? She's amazing and my favorite puppey ever!

  1. oh my goodness! please tell me exactly what kind of dog/ breed your Zoi is! I'm allergic to just about anything that sheds and my youngest daughter age 15 wants a puppy! I could probably do a shed less one! your Hannah is beautiful! great list of faves!!!

    1. Hey Faith, Zoi is a shih tzu. We had a golden retriever before but she shed so badly she had to stay outside. We were surprised to find out that there are several or even many that don't shed. Here's a link I found of dogs that don't shed. http://www.dog-obedience-training-review.com/top-10-dog-breeds-dont-shed-slideshow I'm surprised how many don't shed.
      anyhow, hope it helps!

I did not know you had foot surgery. So very sorry and yes, I know you are bored! May God bless and heal you. Zoi is precious. We have my late mom's mini dachshund who is a real cuddler. Since we are both home all day, she is a perfect dog for us! Hannah is a lovely young lady. Our weather in Georgia USA has been colder than usual the last 2 weeks. Wishing you a nice day! Mildred

That Zoi is adorable! Looks a bit like an Ewok ;-) And there's nothing like a sweet furry creature who likes to cuddle. I'm new to your blog and your family looks beautiful. A singing daughter? A delight.

I agree. I've always had big dogs, but MINNIE, my Boykin Spaniel mix is tiny and fun!

  7. What a sweet dog and one that doesn't shed is definitely a blessing. I don't think we are getting another dog after Koda, but if we did, I would look into this breed.

I hope you do make a quick recovery from your surgery; glad you had the help you had :)

Your daughter is beautiful inside and out.

  8. We have a sweet little dog who also doesn't shed. We think he's mostly poodle, but we got him from a shelter so we don't know for sure. He's not a barker, either, so pretty much the perfect dog! Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  9. Hi Tori: Thanks for visiting my blog. I'm so glad you did because now I am here visiting you and I know I'll be back.

Your little Zoe is adorable. We got a new puppy last year who is also a small one and she is just so easy. She is a mix between a Yorkie and a Lhasa Apso and does not shed either. She weighs about 10-12 lbs. Our previous dog who I love dearly weighed 50 lbs. Quite the difference. haha

Isn't it wonderful to have someone who stands beside you in both the good and the hard times. Hope your recovery is swift.

  10. I'm not a naturally upbeat person, so I appreciate those who are - a true pleasure to have around.

Hope your foot continues to heal well!

Your little Zoe is so cute.

I love that your daughter is an upbeat person. Such a blessing have around!

My goodness, $12 for any kind of a medical procedure is a marvel! Hope you heal quickly! I'm glad your hubby is such a good helper for you.

  12. Hi Tori,
Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment so I could come and visit you. Croatia is a place I'd love to visit one day - beauty and history abounds there. Our family spent many years in South America for the same reason you are in Croatia - missions. I wish we'd had blogs then. So much has changed since 2002 when we came home.
Your daughter sounds like a real sweetheart. Enjoy her singing!

  14. Hi Tori, I always enjoy reading Fridays Fave and it was so interesting reading yours! I hope your foot heals quickly and you're back to normal soon! And what a blessing that it was only $12!

We lost out doggy this summer after having her for 15 1/2 years. In fact, today Nov 21 would have been her 16th birthday. We sure hated to lose her, but I have to admit that we are enjoying being dog-less for a change. I'd always thought I'd like a lap dog and yours is just adorable!

    1. Deb, we got out little Zoi when our boys left for college. She's my almost empty nest doggie. Our daughter starts college in September and I'll officially be and empty-nester. BTW, sorry to hear about your loss, I know they're just pets but they sure hold special places in our hearts.

  15. Dear Tori,

I am quite the slow learner! The comment you left on my blog about being thankful for the hardworking people who faithfully support missionaries got my wheels turning! For some reason, when I clicked on your picture before and it took me to Google+ I didn't see that you were writing blogs! Well, that situation is now taken care of...I've given you a "follow" and you are now on my blog list.

Thank you so much for your faithfulness to show up at my blog. You've been a blessing to me with each visit.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks for the follow and I'm looking forward to getting to know you.

  17. I'd love to have a Hannah in the house, too. We're empty nesters, so I have to sing to myself now. Your Zoi is adorable--cold mornings and a cuddly puppy? Perfect!
I hope your foot heals quickly.

  20. Hope you mend quickly. I didn't know you were having a surgery. I don't know if I missed it or you didn't blog about it. Either way I will pray for speedy recovery!

  21. Tammy, I didn't know I was having surgery either. I went to the dr cause I thought I had a sliver of glass in my foot and come to find out on the day they were gonna dig it out that it wasn't glass at all but some sort of hardening of flesh in my foot and it had to be literally (gag) cut out. It was much worse than I expected and I'm still not walking form the pain. Anyhoo, thanks!!
