It has been so cold here lately, I mean like teens everyday. I don't mind so much, I like the cold but pretty much we were having to deal with the cold without any reward of snow, until last week, look what arrived. Okay so it was only about 4 cm. but the kids were so excited. I looked outside in the morning and our dog was lying by the porch, is she funny of what?
I love to watch the snow fall, just something about those big puffs of white lace floating to the ground, Love it! The kids played and soon the yard was a mess of dirt and snow and all sorts of figures. This was the first snow this year which is really crazy for Croatia. The first several years we were here we had feet of snow on the ground most of the winter, until March usually. This has been a really warm and dry winter for the most part.
Oh yea remember I told you before about the church chairs and how we no longer had to share chairs. Well here is the new church with it's chairs and a new carpet too. Cute huh?
One more thing. Look at these yummy dinner rolls I made. I've never really had success with yeast breads until now. These rolls were so good and very easy for a beginner.

1/2 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
1/2 cup warm milk
1 egg
I'm going to try to get some sewing done this week, I'm eyeing this cute little belt for Hannah. I already have the D rings so I just need to get with it. You can find a great tutorial for it over at Creative Little Daisy Blog.
Guess who got a new star this week. Yea okay you guessed it, ME! I have officially lost 10 lbs. for the last two weeks and I got my second star. I posted about it over at Slow and Steady Wins the Race.
Hope you all have a wonderful week!
1/3 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
These were so good, I don't have a bread maker so I made them by hand and they were still wonderful. I would suggest a little bit longer to rise the second time. That picture is of the ones I made and they were yummy, not very WW point friends but the family loved them. Enjoy!3 3/4 cup s all-purpose flour
1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
1/4 cup butter, softened
INSTRUCTIONS
1/4 cup butter, softened
INSTRUCTIONS
Place water, milk, egg, 1/3 cup butter, sugar, salt, flour and yeast in the pan of the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select Dough/Knead and First Rise Cycle; press Start. |
When cycle finishes, turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Divide dough in half. Roll each half into a 12 inch circle, spread 1/4 cup softened butter over entire round. Cut each circle into 8 wedges. Roll wedges starting at wide end; roll gently but tightly. Place point side down on ungreased cookie sheet. Cover with clean kitchen towel and put in a warm place, let rise 1 hour. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). |
Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes, until golden. |
