Hey We're Famous!

Well at least in our little town we are. The other day in the town paper and article was written that gave us a bit of publicity, good or bad. Apparently as the article says, it's impossible to walk through the city park without having people jump out and tell you about the kingdom of God. This woman went on to talk about the pamphlets or tracts these lurking predators are handing out and how it was impossible to walk through our park without meeting one of these undercover agents for the Kingdom of God.

Within the same issue we had a member, long standing, come to us with this article in hand to tell us how wrong this practice of evangelizing the strolling public is. His argument is that obviously this isn't right and even embarrassing when people are reporting it in the local paper.

And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. It looks pretty clear in Luke 14:23, Go, even into the hedges to compel them to come in.

Anyhow, we're glad that we were reported in the paper, we're even sadly glad that our friend has decided to separate himself from his overly zealous church family because the means that the Devil is mad and so God must be very pleased with the whole situation.

Sorry for the rant!

I'm really sorry that your friend has pulled a 'Demas' (2 Timothy 4:10).

What a wonderful testimony for your church that you are following the Bible way, Christ's way, by going out to win the lost. It's not the popular way but it *is* the Bible way.

I continue to pray for God's blessings upon your family and your ministry.

  8. Thanks Ladies for all the encouragement. It does get a little depressing sometimes.

    Susan,
Yes we were at Countryside Baptist in Mansfield when the whole Santa scandal happened. Way too funny, he was surely famous for a while. How dare he tell the truth???

That does sound like the Devil, doesn't it? Maybe some will come to know the Lord from it though!

  17. Well, as far as this man separating himself from y'all, sometimes that's just for the best. It's God's way of weeding the garden, so to speak. Always remember him in prayer.

And as far as the article?? Well...the word of God is offensive to those who don't want to change. There is someone in that park the Lord wants to reach! Keep on keepin' on!

    Love you,
    ~Kristi

That first comment is right on the money. It is sad when it is a big deal that Christians are just doing what they are supposed to be doing. That behavior ought to be commonplace among Christians. Keep up the great work!

  19. "But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive." Gen 50:20

I trust that God will use this whole situation to bring lost souls unto Himself!
