LOVE inspiration

Okay so with Valentines Day ***please don't write to me and tell me about Valentines Day being a Catholic holiday and how Christians shouldn't celebrate it, I'm celebrating Love not St. Valentine!*** on the horizon I'm thinking that if I'm gonna make it in time for the holiday I'm gonna need to start thinking and planning for it now. So I went on a great internet hunt for some LOVE inspiration and here's what I came up with:

Lookie lookie, how cute is this??? Jeanne Winters came up with this great wreath for Valentines Day since all real LOVE comes from Jesus anyway.

What a really neat craft for the kids! Cindy over at Skip to my Lou made these really neat crayon shaving hearts.

Kate over at Kate's Nesting Spot made this super cute heart pillow. Go check it out!

Cindy over at Skip to my Lou made this cute heart hanging thinggy. How easy is this and something the kids can make too.

Lindsay over at Living with Lindsay made this really cute wreath for her door.

Better Homes and Gardens as usual have some great ideas to sweeten your home for Valentines 2010.

Emily Call Designs has this cute idea with burlap and honestly who doesn't love burlap.

Well I'm gonna go gather up all my buttons and felt, burlap and crayons and some hot cappuccino and start decorating.

  2. Tori, I love your blog! And what a bunch of great ideas for Valentines Day...I really enjoyed seeing the ideas you found! And thanks for solving my dilemma of what to put in those empty glass hurricane lamp things on the top of my china closet...The pic of the bunch of candles tied together with a ribbon is perfect! So glad I found your pretty blog. I'll be back to visit often!

  4. Wow, Tori, some very cute ideas. You've been busy, sleuthing them out! Sometimes I like to make popcorn balls and shape them like a heart; or bake muffins, put a marble between the muffin paper and the metal baking cup, and it kind of "squishes" the paper so you end up with a heart(ish) shaped muffin. Just a couple more ideas ;) (can ya ever have too many?) Thanks for stopping by my blog. It's great to meet you. Sounds like you and your family have been faithfully doing some great work on the mission field.

  5. Wow! Thanks for sharing such cute ideas!! I am excited about that heart pillow. Not sure when I'll get it done, but I am working on some ideas! (My own variation for the pillow!) It won't be long until Valentines!
Enjoy your snow! It is getting really cold out here in Texas - for us anyway... you know how that is! :) But now snow for us. Oh, well, the winter isn't over yet.
    Happy New Year!

  6. Well, I was going to email you and tell you of the EVILS of Valentine's Day, but something told me not to. ROFL

Loved all the little decorations. I had thought about making a wreath myself, from that really cool fuzzy yarn and a foam heart. I'd like to do an arrow but I thought maybe I'd get Bruce to make one in his wood shop. If this pans out, I'll be sure to post a picture of it for you. But I totally expect to see it here at your blog. ROFL...just kidding. I'm in a mood today. Can you tell?

    ;)

  8. Some cute ideas - the thing about celebrating "love and romance" is that you can do it at any time not just on Valentines Day. A few years ago my husband surprised me with a giant stuffed gorilla holding a love heart which says "I love you". I thought it was SO cute!!!

  10. Wow good detective work! Thanks for sharing the finds. Got my creative juices flowing for our Valentine Banquet at church. I agree that we can celebrate love in our marriage for Valentines rather than the saint it is coordinated with! If someone has the attitude that it is wrong because of the original origin, then they might want to skip celebrating birthdays like the JW's do cuz they may be on to something there. I will continue celebrating the birth of my kids because of the miracle they are and my husband's because I am so thankful he is here!
