Today the family took me out to eat for my birthday. I had decided that I didn't want to go, diet you know but then they seemed so sad I gave in. The sacrifices I make for family!!
Joshua and Johnny goofing off or are they???
Hannah, Cody and I. The wind was terrible, that's my excuse for the bad hair.
No alcoholic beverages were consumed in the making of this film!
Can you read what the house special is for the day???
Okay so we got the daily menu or the daily special which consisted of:
mixed salad with vinegar and oil (the norm in Europe), calf medallions with mushroom sauce and njokiand paličinke (crepes) for desert. Yummy!!
The kids got two large pepperoni pizzas which they quickly devoured. Actually this place has the best pizza we have ever had in Croatia. There were two pieces left and Cody was trying to breath on them so no one else would eat them. Little did he know that to Josh it doesn't matter!Oh yea afterward we (the grown-ups) had cappuccino. Here are a couple photos from the inside of this little bistro.
I had to take a picture of this; the way the restaurants usually mark the bathrooms is with either a little girl sitting on a pot or a boy standing and doing his business. The first time I saw it I was a little disturbed. I'm not so much now, hmm, should I be concerned by that???
Oh yea and the outside of this place. No way a tourist would ever find it, it's family owned. In the front along the road is a cafić (coffee house that serves liquor too) but it's totally separated from the restaurant.
BTW, Don't know if you can see it or not but the place is called Barok, I guess like the the Barok era, so we're leaving and Cody says, "Hey if it isn't Barok, don't fix it!". HA, way too funny!!
That's the restaurant back there in the back to the left so if you are ever visiting Croatia you can drop in there for a few eats!
***Edited to say: the little green bottle of Johnny's is mineral water, okay now you know, no reason to start that rumor!! :0)

That looks like the same restaurant that you and your hubby went to on a 'date' a month or so ago. You posted a picture of him on your blog......I gotta know...Is it the same one?
ReplyDeleteNo that's not the same picture and yes it is the same place. We like it and the kids had never been so we took them.

The bistro was beautiful. So what WAS in the bottle of Brother Johnny's, anyway? ROFL His facial expression was cracking me up. hehe
