Fooey on the Flu

Well it looks like the flu is here to stay for a while. Johnny had it for 5 days and now we're home from church because Hannah has it now. Oh the joys of life.

I went to the material store today and guess what I got, yea that's right, material...not just material but some really good stuff for making aprons. I took some pictures of the material and their intended purposes. So as soon as things slow down I plan on working on these aprons. I don't know if this one is actually an apron but isn't it cute. I'm making the green one for Hannah, hopefully I can downsize the pattern enough for a 10 year old. The orange one is for me, and I love the material. The plaids are for the trims. Anyhow, I don't know why I showed you those if not to motivate me to get them done. °Ü°

Oh yea I was going to let you all know, or those of you who are interested, I started a new diet blog. I am down 15 lbs since I started counting and I'm sure I lost 5 lbs before I weighed the first time. The US is fun but it sure is hard to maintain a healthy weight. So I'm loosing all my furlough fluff!! °Ü°

Well I'm headed to get ready for bed. Have a great day y'all!!

  2. They have the flu in Croatia? Hmm.

I hope your fam gets feeling better soon. Have fun sewing those aprons. My wife just sewed three really nice skirts last week. Keep up the great work.

  3. I have the Daisy Kingdom pattern, but haven't made it yet. A friend did though, and she said it runs very large, so be sure to cut it down for a youngster!

  5. Charity,
We are 7 hours from Home, you know Texas is the Home that we're away from in Home Away From Home. °Ü°

    Tracy,
Thanks for the heads-up about the Daisy Kingdom pattern , for a 10 year old she's pretty small so I'm gonna have to really cut it down.

    Y'all,
I'll let ya know how it goes after I'm finished, will post pictures for sure!

I like sewing but I'm not very good at it....the directions to me seem too much like a math problem. Would love to see aprons when they are all done. Hope your feeling better soon.

P.S. thanks for stopping by my blog.

  10. I am so sorry the flu is sticking around. It seems that is the way it has been in our church also. It is hard to get rid of and then people cough for several weeks. I am praying that Jim and I don't get it. But if we do, I know that God will take care of in that also.

I love the aparons. I want to get me a pattern. I have never made one. My mom and my Mother in law when they were living always made my aparons and now I haven't had one in several years. I especially like the long one. I can't wait to see your finished product. Have a good night, Tori. connie from Texas

Sorry the flu's going around in your family; hopefully you're over the worse of it, and it'll be gone shortly!
