Just Life in General

Hey all!! So things are about the same here. I've been doing some packing and some cleaning. Oh home officially has no stored items whatsoever outside of the kitchen and bathroom. We've been packing up no essentials and moving them to the national's attic. It's nice to have empty closets! :0)

Our busy season is about to start. As you know we're headed for furlough in 2.5 months, and yes I'm counting down. So mid-November we fly out but until then we have a full docket.
We have a missionary family from Romania coming in 3 weeks to see Croatia then a week after they leave we have a family of 6 coming for a survey trip. A week after they leave we have a very nice man from our home church in Texas coming for a missions trip, then after he leaves we have the ordination of the national pastor. Whew, let me catch my breath and calm myself before I panic!!! So after the ordination we have a special guest speaker coming for a 1 night service and while all this is happening we are in our annual Fall campaign at church. So what does this all mean???? Oh I don't know, I just thought I would share my panic with you!! :0)

My kids are getting so excited about seeing the grands when we get to the states. They are Mammy and Papaw kids. They adore their grandparents and with good reason. Oh yea and they have a new cousin Madison that is also there and they are looking forward to that.

What am I looking forward too, you ask; WAL-MART!!! I am so looking forward to going to Wal-mart, and no I'm not kidding. Do you know how cool that place is??? Really, you know why Europe is so far behind America??? No Wal-mart! Yep that's it, really I'm thinking that's the cure for all these third world countries. Oh okay, yea I know Jesus is what they need, but I'm thinking Wal-mart is up there on the list somewhere. I'm just kidding.

We've officially started school and you know what I was wondering??? Where did summer go?
This year I have a high schooler!!! Oh my, am I really that old??? YEA!
I have a 9th grader, a 6th grader and a 4th grader. We're doing Switched in Schoolhouse this year. We have used it for 3 years now and I love it. We do supplement with Saxon math, I really love Saxon.

Anyhoo, this is what's going on here. I am planning to make Hannah two skirts today, she is outgrowing everything she owns. She is defiantly going to be bigger than me. ;0)

Oh yea is it feeling like Fall there??? It is here, it's actually jacket weather and I love it. I love crisp mornings, sweaters, hot cocoa, the smell of the heater when it's turned on for the first time, and cuddling under quilts. I just love the fall.

Have a wonderful day y'all!!

Ohh man, I know what you mean about the WALMART!!! When we were stationed in Germany I was just LOST without the Wal-Mart! We did go to one they had over there it was like FOREVER away and it was TERRIBLE!! Also, Bill told me the other day on the phone that when he gets home, we are going to pick the kids up from school, go to Ci Ci's Pizza, and then to WALMART!!! He totally cracked me up!

I deleted the first post because I had some stuff misspelled!! SORRY

  3. So busy!
I'm sure time will fly by.
I'm exicted for y'all coming home on furlough and that you'll be able to go to Wal-mart. That IS a big deal. In our town we call Wal-mart (it's a supercenter) our town mall. My husband always makes comments about how it doesn't get any better than that when you can buy your undergarments and groceries in the same place. *Ü*

Y'all with be in our prayers.
And if you're heading to SC, northeast GA, or southern NC anywhere (and maybe even MI), let me know. *Ü*

Enjoy your time working on those skirts! They grow so fast.

  4. You will be way busy, but it's a good, good busy, getting ready to come home on furlough and keeping the fires burning there in Croatia in the meantime.

Even in Canada, Wal-Mart is different. It's amazing - one hour from the border of the US, and WM is different! There aren't any Supercenters here, just the smaller stores, and it just feels different in them.

We've used SOS for about 5 or 6 years now, and we love it too. We also changed to Saxon math. We start school next Tuesday.

I know it's a jump, but if you'll be in the Seattle area, come on up! ;) It would be fun to meet you.

  6. I know what you mean about school. I also have a 9th grader, a 6th grader and then a first grader this year. High school is going to be a different thing for me, but I'm really excited about it.
My Hannah is growing like a weed too. For a long time I didn't think she would ever grow. But she is. But she's still going to be a shorty like me. I'm 5' 2". What size is your Hannah in now?

Well, I'm tired just thinking about your schedule. LOL But God is good and I know you will blessed in all of the upcoming events. You said that you were going to ordain the national pastor. Will he take over the church you're at now or start a new one? Or do you even know what God has planned yet?

  7. You do sound busy!

I haven't been by in awhile so didn't know you were going back to the states soon...I can imagine your family is excited!

Would you believe we have lived in this neighborhood for 7 years and still don't have a nearby Walmart? But there's one in the works to be built soon...there were a lot of people protesting it but somehow it got passed! I have to admit, whenever I go by one I have the urge to stop, since I rarely get to go!

I'll be dropping by again soon!
    Blessings!

Life without a Walmart?? Bless your heart. We take the simple things for granted. I don't know as I would know what to do without a Walmart either...but if I had to live without it I guess I'd adjust in time.
