Yea it's the Week of Soul-Winning!

Hey now this gentleman may look a little "out there" but he definantly has the right idea.

This week at our home church is the Week of Soul-Winning. Everyday morning and night the church goes out and knocks on doors and gives folks the opportunity to be saved. 

I didn't make it yeasterday but today has been a great blessing already. My partner today was Jenette and she was a wonderful blessing to me. She is a new soul-winner and she told me she wasn't going to talk. She is bilingual with Spanish being her mother language and boy did I love it. Every time Johnny and I are in the area we go to our church soul-winning and we have been hitting one large apartment complex everytime we go. Sadly we only are able to talk to 50% of the occupants but not today. Today Jenette and I had them coming and going. The English speakers were stuck with me and Jenette got all the Spanish speakers. I was so excited for her because she was so new to door-knocking and today Jenette got to led two precious Hispanic ladies to the Lord personally. WOW, she's addicted now and she's gonna be my partner this week, yea me!!! Oh yea and I just want to thank the Lord for John, he's 12 years old and sharp as a tack. He asked Jesus to save him this morning and he was so sincere. 

Anyhow, I thought I would give a little update. We're about to head out again so I'm praying that God will save folks despite the mared vessels He'll be using tonight.

UPDATE: As of this morning (6-22) our family (minus Josh, he's been sick) has had the privilege of leading 11 people to the Lord. Hannah had a 19 year old lady saved last night and she even came back to the church to be baptized immediately. Hannah's first soul saved and baptized! God sure is good!

Miracles in Croatia

We're so blessed to have Bro. Sam Ward as our co-laborer in Croatia. He just celebrated his 1 year of service in Croatia. Since his arrival in Croatia we have seen God do great things through his life. We praise the Lord for Bro. Sam.

Hey God is really moving these days and we're glad he didn't forget about Croatia. He's doing a great work there and I'm glad He's using Bro. Sam Ward and the rest of the team there in Croatia to do it.

First Times

Last week while Johnny was out door-knocking he came upon a young man, married and expecting their first baby. The young man was surprised when Johnny asked him "the" question and answered with, "No, I don't know if I would go to heaven when I die.". Johnny jumped in with both feet and showed him from the Bible how he could know he was going to heaven if he would simply turn to Christ and accept His gift of eternal life. The man agreed with every point. He agreed that he was a sinner and that sin has a penalty and that Jesus paid that penalty for all mankind but when Johnny got the last step, he lost the young man completely. He knew he had a decision to make, but this is what he told Johnny, "I am a 10th generation Catholic. Everyone in my family is catholic and have been for 10 generations. My wife and I have a baby coming and my family expects me to christen her. I'm a 10th generation Catholic, I just can't change now."
Johnny was heart broken and explained to this man that he would one day stand face to face with Jesus and would have to give account for himself minus his family. He would be responsible for himself and he would stand alone.
Anyhow, Johnny left this man at the door, both of them very sad, but what can you do? He made a choice and it wasn't in favor of Jesus. Johnny talked about him for days and he was really bothered by this 10th generation Catholic. Can you imagine if your family had been Catholic since the 1500s and suddenly you were the one to break that tradition. Wow.
We're still praying for this young man, God's Word is powerful and sharper than a two edged sword, we're praying it will work in his heart and God will gain the victory over 10 generations of the Devils stronghold.

Okay so onto yesterday's report.
About 7 years ago Johnny stopped a young man walking down the street and with a translator he led the man to the Lord. For the last 7 years Johnny has been training him to be a soul-winner. Well tonight Alan was the speaker for the first time and he took a silent partner. This was Alan's very first time at someone's door without Bro. Johnny or the national pastor. Our son went with Alan and I'm so happy to report that Bro. Alan was walking in the Spirit, it was clear and we could see it all over him. He shinned his shoes before soul-winning and aparently prayed most of the day because it sure showed.

We were so excited when they came down the stairs from the 6th floor of the old communist apartment building we were knocking with smiles that could come from nothing other than seeing a man trust Christ. Alan had knocked the door of an 18 year old man and walked him through God's simple plan of salvation and led him to Christ. Amen!!! We were almost hollering with joy in that stairwell, but we didn't care. Here we had a convert, a man who has been faithful and followed and listened and now he had a convert.
This is how missions works. On a perfect day this is how it would work.

Oh wait I forgot, Johnny and I also took a new lady with us to the doors. She isn't a new Christian but this was her first time door-to-door and we had a horrible time. People we so rude and hateful. We learned that the Jehovah's Witnesses were just there before us, it wasn't going well for Zeljka's first time. Then it happened, right after we prayed, Nikolina opened the door and invited us in. I'm so happy to say that she trusted Christ and received eternal life last night.
God is so good and it was amazing to see her saved. She was very open and it was obvious that she had been searching for truth, even the TRUTH and the LIFE.

Anyhow, I just wanted to share these stories with you. Praise the Lord, He's still in the saving business!

Just a Little Rant

Well I'm so happy to report that 52 precious souls have been saved in the last 7 days, AMEN!!

I was a bit sad to see the response to the new blog with pictures of the folks who were saved. I know that people don't have tons of time to look at blogs, but these are souls were talking about and it seems that people should be more excited about hearing about a soul being turned from darkness to light, from Hell to Heaven and from a Christless life to a Son of God! We look at what is important to us and in these days and times souls being saved doesn't seem to make too many excited anymore.

Hey I'm excited, I'm shouting, AMEN, PRAISE GOD!!! One more person has been saved from eternity in a fiery hell. It's shouting ground!!

Okay so I ranted a bit, I know maybe I shouldn't have but I did and I think it was okay, even good. I know we're busy as wives, teachers, mothers and so on but our Biblical focus should be souls, if it's not them our priorities are all mixed up. We should be teaching our children to have a love for souls. When we hear of someone being born into the eternal family of God we should rejoice, as our children see us with a true excitement for souls saved they will soon learn that there's nothing more important than a souls being born again. Before long they will want to get in on all that excitement and will in turn become the soul-winners or warners that God wants them to be.

What would life be like for us now if someone hadn't cared about souls? Where would I be? I shutter to think about it. Like I said, I'm ranting a bit but I'm ranting at myself too. My heart has grown a bit cold and indifferent to the plight of the lost man, it's been so long since I was lost, I forgot how glorious it was to be found.

I hope you all know in which spirit I wrote this post, not angry whatsoever, but quite worried about the state of today's Christians.

To be a Christian is to be Christlike and in no better way can we be like Him than to love souls.

Souls Being Saved!

Well as you've noticed I removed the running account of souls being saved in the soul-warning marathon. The list had begun to get rather long and we are only 3 days into the 11 days.

So, I've created yet another blog to keep up with the joyous news. Get Over Yourself! is a blog about what can happen when we get over ourselves and step aside and let the Holy Spirit work.

Please do me a favor, go by and check out the blog. I am posting the information but the blog is actually not mine, it's just a place where we can rejoice together that yet another name is written down. Also, you can learn a little about the soul-winners.

Beautiful Weather and a New Name!

Finally, it's lovely today, it's about 75° and gorgeous. Early this morning Ljubica (national pastor's wife) and I went to Slovenia to do a little shopping. We didn't find any great bargains but we had a good time together.

After I got home Johnny and I worked in the yard a bit and something wonderful happened. As we were raking a man came to the gate and said Dobar Dan ( good day). Johnny walked over and immediately said, "Tori, look who it is." I stared a minute and then realized who it was. Anđeljko came to our teen camp years ago, about 6 actually. We haven't seen him in years and now he's all grown up, he has a wife and new baby. Johnny talked with him for a bit and then popped the question, "If you were to die today do you know 100% sure that you would go to heaven?" Anđeljko looked at Johnny and said "no". Johnny proceeded to share the Good News with him and after some time Anđeljko received Jesus as his Savior and a new name is written down in Heaven. We were delighted!! Hey it's great when you don't have to go after them but they come to you.

It's Monday and we have soul-winning today so I better go and get ready. Hoping your Monday is as nice as mine!!!
