Which Christmas Movies Do You Love?

Our family loves to watch movies especially classic movies with "real" actors. At Christmas time we pull out all the old Christmas flicks and sit down several times a week and watch a movie together. We've already started our annual viewing fest and here are some of our favorites.

Without saying really, one of the best, all-time Christmas movies ever made. James Stewart and Donna Reed, can't go wrong with them. Anyhow, it's great and if you haven't seen it you've really missed out!

My second favorite Christmas movie, The Bishop's Wife. David Niven, Loretta Young and last but not least Ol' Mr. Grant himself. This is a delightful tale of the misplaced values and a little help from above. Just seen this one this year and it's already one of my favorites!

Yet another new one to me; We're No Angels is hilarious and the sorta movie you start watching and never think about anything else till it's over.
The lead actor being Mr. Bogart with two wonderful actors along side. Peter Ostinov is the actor that played Black Beard in Disney's Black Beard's Ghost (hillarious). Anyhow, this one is great and totally worth the watch.

Another Jimmy Stewart Christmas, feel-good movie. Shop Around the Corner is just a very nice, feel-good movie. Worth the watch!

Lest I forget, Mr. Scrooge, This is my favorite rendition of A Christmas Carol. I love the actors and it's just very high quality. It's aweful hard to make a less than great Christmas Carol!

Can't ever get enough of Dr. Seuss! My kids love this movie and honestly I do too.

Oops, I almost forgot Charlie Brown. A Christmas classic forever. Poor Charlie makes us all feel better about ourselves no matter how pittiful we are. :0)

So here are some of my Christmas favorites,
what are some of yours???
BTW, all these movies can be found used on Amazon for great prices.

Renaissance Festival

This past week we drove 40 minutes to Koprivnica for their annual Renaissance Festival. We've never been to one so this was our first.

First off, loved that it was free, free is an awesome word.
Was a bit grossed out by all the poor animals being roasted everywhere.
Hey I like meat and everything but not if it actually looks like an animal. I like meat that is indiscernible, like chicken nuggets, meat loaf, hamburgers and so on. But I don't like to see the remnants of 'Ol Bell from the pasture down the street.
Oh well I guess Wilbur finally wore off his welcome on the family farm.

I can do fish though. Whole fish don't gross me out like real animals.

We weren't able to stay for the heretic burning. We were actually afraid of our roll in the whole bit.

One thing I did realize at the festival was that safety wasn't their utmost priority. Loved this noose hanging within reach of all the little kids. And let me tell you, there were multitudes of mini necks in this thing.

There were also cannons going off. This one was so funny, people were all around and directly below the cannon was a whole field of people. Oh well, I guess MOVE IT OR LOSE IT goes along way here.

This was hilarious. See the archers down there, shooting real arrows? Well you could shoot 3 arrows for a dollar so there were all sorts down there trying their luck. What's funny is the walk way from the town behind the targets. You can even see a man walking from town on that path. I seen more than one arrow make it up almost to the walk way. Remind me not to take that path.

This cute little baby wasn't worried at all about not having any safety restraints holding her in.
The costumes were great.

After dark there was a great fire show. These crazy guys from Slovakia were awesome. Sadly none of the night shots or videos came out, but take my word for it, they were great.

Just a little winter fun!

Saturday morning after soul-winning we stopped by the Old Town in Varazdin, the city where the new church plant is. Anyhow, this really old castle is surrounded by huge hills all around it. These hills make the perfect place to sled during the snowy months of winter.

Anyhow, I took some videos and I have to say, they are hilarious. There are 4 because Joshua is so funny I put two of him on.

Oh yea and listen to the dialog between Dad and the kids, way too funny!!
Enjoy the laugh.

Make sure to listen to Dad in this one, way too funny!!

Yea, an Air Show!

Two weeks ago (yes I'm posting late) we took the family to the annual air show in Pribislavec, just a short little drive from our house. The mass of people was unbelievable. Our town has about 25,000 people and I bet 10,000 were at the show. This was the first air show for us so we were amazed.

There was the coolest Red Bull stunt plane and and he actually flew that thing like he drank about 50 of those little Red Bulls. He was awesome!

Then they have a group of 5 WWII planes and they were amazingly coordinated. They flew within inches of eachothers wings. Very cool!

Oh yea here's a very amateur video of the stunt plane, please forgive the chitter-chatter in the background, that's Joshua our 13 year old. :0)

HOW DOES HE DO THAT??

We only got to stay for two hours of the 6 hour show. We missed the MIG that came and broke the sound barrier and several other really awesome planes. Anyhow it was so much fun and the kids loved it, thats what matters, right?
