Okay so I'm a day late with my Sunday Review Monday but better late than never. We had a great church service Sunday. It was our annual Harvest Sunday and we had a wonderful time in God's house. We had several visitors and had one man walk the isle for salvation.
Our little church was packed and makes us realize that it may be time to dig up some more room in our building. Maybe even knocking out a wall or something.
Hannah did a great job playing piano for the service.
It really takes some doing in a church this crowded to turn the auditorium into a fellowship hall and set up tables. It can get a bit crowded at times.
We had dinner after the services and served Baka's (grandma's) famous goulash. It was delicious as usual and we had way too much, as usual.
Our ladies when out of their way to make some really amazing desserts too. I organized the table, cut the cakes but never, never did I lick a finger! It was enough just to smell it all!!
BTW, if you look closely you can see me! That's me down there with the black sweater turned awkwardly around. Oh yea and do you see that thermometer on the wall, it's our Faith Promise Missions giving thermometer. Our little church supports 2 national missionaries; one in Chili and one family in the Philippines. Four more months and we'll have given 7,080 kuna ($1,146) to world wide missions.
We have some amazing people in our church but we also have some amazing friends from the first church plant. Pastor Rajko Telelbar and his family were with us for Harvest Sunday. They are our dearest friends in Croatia.
Now, this is Agatha. She's 75 and a full time hoot! She is the funniest lady I've ever met. She loves the Lord with all her heart and it shows in her face. She truly is one of my biggest blessings.
Oh wait, there he is, that's my baby love! Okay so he's the pastor but also my baby love!
Finally I thought I would include this photo. This is Rebeka, Bro. Rajko's oldest daughter. She is one of Hannah's closest friends and one of the sweetest young ladies I know.
I love our church and our people. God's been so good to us to let us serve in a beautiful country with beautiful people we love!
Oh the goulash looks amazing! Looks like a great Sunday!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kristy, it was! Sadly I didn't eat any goulash cause I'm gluten free but I had fond memories of it from before. 😄
DeleteLoved seeing your church Tori!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Arlene! We love our people!
DeleteLooks like an amazing time with your church family. I know God will bless your church because you are missions minded and giving to missions!
ReplyDeleteI had to smile at the baby love comment!
Jarralea,
DeleteWe really do have a great church family. We know that God blesses churches that care about the souls of men. We're thankful that they received this truth. It's hard sometimes in poor countries because it's just so hard for them to get money and to give it away seems crazy to them. We're looking forward to taking on another national missionary after missions conference in January.
How awesome for the one saved! The food looks so good. And good for you not tasting the desserts!
ReplyDeleteTammy,
DeleteWe're so thankful to be seeing folks saved almost weekly lately. God is so good!!
I love seeing your church family. So nice that Hannah plays piano. When I was in jr. college, I was pianist at the early morning services at our church. Music "gave" me many friends through the years. Your daughter's friend is sweet too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mildred! Hannah's never had formal lessons but she's very musical, she plays the violin and recorder really well too.
