Souls Being Saved!

Well as you've noticed I removed the running account of souls being saved in the soul-warning marathon. The list had begun to get rather long and we are only 3 days into the 11 days.

So, I've created yet another blog to keep up with the joyous news. Get Over Yourself! is a blog about what can happen when we get over ourselves and step aside and let the Holy Spirit work.

Please do me a favor, go by and check out the blog. I am posting the information but the blog is actually not mine, it's just a place where we can rejoice together that yet another name is written down. Also, you can learn a little about the soul-winners.

God Bless!

How to remove the Blogger navbar

Hi y'all, I don't have alot of time because we'll be heading to the Gypsy village before long for a Tuesday night meeting but I wanted to share something cool for your blog.

You now this little bar that Blogger automatically puts at the top of each blog? Well there is a way to remove it and keep it from messing up your pretty blog or even your layout. It's really simple, really just a few steps and your finished.

1. Open up your blogger dashboard and find the blog where you want to remove the navbar.

2. On the right you will find the LAYOUT link, click on that.

3. As the page opens where you can change your elements and all, you want to find the EDIT HTML link near the top and click on that.

4. Find this body { in the code, it's not too far down.

5. Copy this code
#navbar-iframe { height: 0px; visibility: they hidden; display: none; }
and paste it above the body { code.

6. Click PREVIEW to see it the navbar is gone. If it is and all looks well then SAVE.

**I don't usually but you may want to save your template before editing the HTML just in case.

Carnival of Modern Home Dwelling

Hey, check this out. There's a carnival going on and while I'm not usually excited about carnivals I am about this one. Really neat stuff. Check it out!!

Happy Memorial Day

As I sat here at my computer this morning I was struck that today was Memorial day. Often in Croatia the US holidays seem to sneak by me. Usually I'm looking back to celebrate but today I was reminded early.

Europe in most part has no idea of the great joy freedom brings. The freedom to worship God as we see fit, to raise our children in peace and to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ so freely; how blessed we are.

To not take the moment to say thank you to those who sacrificed for our freedom would be unthinkable.

I Stand Before You

I stand before you all today
But not one eye can see my way

My time arrived, to leave this earth
A fact so planned, to every birth

It happened where I had to go
My torch for life was so aglow

I transferred while in uniform
Protecting freedom, through a storm

Should I resent I died for you
Not on my life, red white and blue

Please help my family through each day
Tell all my friends, try not to stray

And of the country I did love
Do think of me, through God above

Your memories, brought forth this day
Send love to us, who could not stay

Of all the freedoms we are thankful for we must remember there is no freedom to be had outside of the Lord Jesus Christ. True freedom comes from accepting His ultimate sacrifice for all man kind for all time.

And the chief captain answered, With a great sum obtained I this freedom. And Paul said, But I was free born.
Acts 22:28

I know this particular verse isn't talking about wartime freedom or eternal for that matter but this phrase caught my eye. Truely with a great sum we obtained our freedom both here as citizens of the great United States and as citizens of Glory Land!

Weeks of Soul-Winning

Yesterday Johnny headed to the capitol and picked up Bro. Sam Ward from the airport. Bro. Sam is from our home church in Arlington, Tx. and he has an extreme love for soul-winning and sharing the Gospel.

The plan is as follows; he will be here almost 2 full weeks and everyday of that two weeks they have 8 hours of door knocking planned. So we're looking at a good 72 hours of door knocking and sharing the Gospel.

Last time Bro. Sam came, he prayed for 17 souls and 17 souls were saved! This time his number is so large he isn't telling us what it is. He works in the prisons in Texas and has hundreds of inmates praying for this trip. We're so excited to see what the Lord will do over the next two weeks.

Please, please pray for these two weeks. Pray that God will begin now dealing with the hearts of people here in Croatia. Also pray that Bro. Johnny will have full use of the Croatian language as he will be doing all the speaking unless they happen on English speakers. One more thing; Bro. Sam has MD and walks with a cane, 8 hours a day is going to be hard, please ask God to give him strength to endure.

Thanks and I'll be back with good news soon!

A Day at the Zoo

Today the church took a trip to the capitol to visit the zoo. Actually the Zagreb zoo is the only zoo in the country. It's a small zoo but very clean and very open. You can get very close to all the animals and it's a very serene, clean enviorment. We enjoyed ourselves. Here's my Hannah, on the Left, then Doretea and Mauella.

I recorded this pretty little bear, isn't he cute?
Had to throw some flowers in there somewhere. Don't have an idea what these little beauties are but they're so pretty.

Wow, is this guy impressive or what?
What a lazy day. These guys were so relaxed!
Milan is the youngest child of our Roma family, Milan and Marija are so faithful and they're a great blessing to us.
Milan and his youngest daughter Elvira (Hannah's best buddy)
Is this the cutest little otter, he was in arm's length . I love how open the zoo is, don't know how safe it is but it was neat.
A group picture of the folks from church. Sadly for you, I'm not in it!! :0) I was the photographer.
A black swan! I've never seen one and though it was oh so interesting.
Beggin' for handouts! This guy was full of personality and was a really good catch too.

So our zoo trip is over, the kids enjoyed themselves. It was a little boring for me but I enjoyed seeing the kids have fun.

Clover Bias Tape Maker Review

Oh I'm so excited to do this review. The Clover Bias Tape makers are awesome and so easy to use. I got out some extra material, cut it on the bias, 45° angle and proceeded by the instructions. I cut the material at 1 and 7/8 inches with the rotary cutter.
Then I took the the pieces and attached them together.

It's important to attach them as shown below. One mistake I made is that I didn't make sure the points were matched exactly and when I ironed out the pieces that were sown together they didn't match. So take care on this step.

I used my little Hannah's hands for photo purposes. Clover really has made this whole thing very simple. I used a strait pin to attach the end of the material to one end of the ironing board and then as I pulled the makers I followed with the iron. Out of a meter of matieral I ended up with about 12 yards of 1" bias tape for a little more than $8, including the amount I paid for the bias tape maker. Pretty good deal.
BTW, If you sign up for the Joann e-mail list they'll send you some great coupons like these. You can get your Clover Bias Tape Makers for almost nothing. Oh yea and one more thing, they have fusable bias tape makers too. Oh boy!!

Just some stuff!

I never know what to call these multi-subject posts, hence the name, Just some stuff!
My birthday was in March and my best friend sent me a subscription to Light and Tasty (Taste of Home). Well it took a while to receive it and when it finally came it wasn't Light and Tasty (which has been changed to Healthy Cooking) like it should have been but it was Simple and Delicious. Well I really needed Light and Tasty (Healthy Cooking) but I'm pretty happy with Simple and Delicious. Wheww, that was a mouthful.

Here's a great little recipe we found in the magazine, and fun too. The perfect thing to make with the kids on a slow morning and how happy they'll be!

Homemade Fudge Pops
30 minutes + Freezing
Lyssa Prasek c/o Simple and Delicious Magazine

There are lots of great recipes to be found in the Simple and Delicious magazine, check it out!
ENJOY!

Oh guess what?? While our friends were here we went to Austria to shop and let them see it a little, guess what we found?? Okay so the picture gives it away a bit but look at those things!! Do you see the Dr.Pepper? I mean really do you have any idea what a miracle that is? When we were in the store and Johnny found them I almost screamed, not so much because I love Dr. Pepper (which I do) but just the sheer shock. Bro. Rasbeary bought all 12 that the store had, how nice of him and he gave them all to us. Awww!! Thanks Bro. James!

Anyhow, also I found Miracle Whip which is a miracle in itself and last but not least, PECANS! I couldn't believe it. Do you know that Croats don't even know what Pecans are. I was so pleased to find these, actyally pleased isn't the word, ecstatic is more like it. So next time you eat a tuna sandwhich with pecans and Miracle whip in it, (which btw is delish if you havn't tried it) and pour that bottle of Dr. Pepper over that ice; think of us poor missionaries who struggle to make it without the needed essentials! HA! Anyhow, God's so good to care about the little things!Hey look what I have... I feel like a school girl showing off her new toy. Clover bias tape makers!!
If you remember this post, I was showing off some new material I wanted to use for an apron. Well I never did it, never started the apron because I had coordinating material and I wanted to use it for the bias tape but it's next to impossible to make bias tape with out a bias tape maker so, I'm all set. I'll be posting about that really soon!

Oh I had to share this with you, isn't she sweet. That's KD, she's our Golden (white) Retriever. She brings me her toy (which used to be a good round rope thinggy with a tennis ball attached until she decided to redesign it) when she wants to play, she's so special!

Anyhoo y'all, I'll leave you today with this pretty little shot I took in Varazdin, I would love to have about 6 of these little pots sitting around my yard. Love the painted tin can!

Special thanks to all you gals who went by to look at my new Windows Around Europe blog. I know it's weird but honestly so am I!

Have a great weekend y'all!!

Windows Around Europe

I've decided to start another blog, as if I have time for that! Anyhow, one of my special likes is windows. Windows in every shape, color and style. I love 'em and I have millions of pictures too. So I've decided to share them here. Just a fun place, no seriousness at all.

Putting our visitors to work!

We started out the visit with our friends with church, that's a great place to start! Bro. Rasbeary preached and did a wonderful job. Our people sure enjoy getting to hear a variety of preachers and we're blessed that God has sent good ones our way. Oh yea and Bro. Rajko, the national pastor did a wonderful job translating too.Bro. Petchulat, a deacon at Bro. Rasbeary's church also came to Croatia and was such a blessing to us while he was here. Mrs. Rasbeary and my dear friend Marija. Marija is one of the most faithful people in our church and I was honored to introduce her to my dear friend Amanda. Here's Marija and her husband Milan, they sure mean alot to us. Altogether while the Rasbearys were here we managed to pass out at least 1000 tracts.
BTW, mine is the short, handsome one!
Didn't see anyone saved but had some good contacts. Many people heard a clear presentation of the Gospel but chose to reject Christ.

Our church is richer for their visit and just in case they happen to read this blog, don't think they will but if they do: Thanks for coming you guys, we sure love ya!

Home at Last!

I took this photo in Austria

Hey y'all, I'm home.

I'm so happy to be home, I've had a great time with our friends but I'm so glad to be home. Our friends arrived on the 29th and they flew out on Friday so it's been busy. We've had several good meetings at church, passed out lots of tracts, seen the Adriatic Sea, Slovenia, Croatia, Austria and Hungary. Just talking about it makes me tired. In Europe all the countries are so close together it's like traveling from one city to another.

Anyhow, enough of that! Posts will resume as usual and I'm glad to be back home and back to blogging.

I have lots to share, so get ready for some heavy reading!!
